Dr. Shamarlas G. Allens
I am Dr. Shamarlas G. Allens, a dedicated and compassionate principal at Pharr Elementary School, whose passion radiates throughout the school which creates a nurturing and high-achieving learning environment. I believe deeply in meeting students where they are, recognizing each child’s unique potential and guiding them to where they need to be, both academically and socially emotionally. By fostering a culture of growth, I believe in empowering teachers to be their very best versions of themselves, championing innovation, collaboration, and excellence in instruction. They prioritize building strong relationships with students, ensuring they feel supported, seen, heard, know that their thoughts matter, and they can be successful.
I understand the dreams parents hold for their children, and I work tirelessly to reassure them that their goals are being realized within our school’s walls. We create opportunities for every student to thrive. At Pharr Elementary School, we are a school with one door and behind that door is the absolute value of successful students and teachers aiming to uphold our school motto which is "Excellence in Education".
We continue to aim for excellence. Pharr Elementary School is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Elementary Schools in Georgia for the second consecutive year. We are proud to be ranked #93 out of 1,923 schools statewide and #14 in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Pharr Elementary School is the only Title I school in GCPS to be ranked. This is a remarkable improvement from last year’s ranking of #97.
At Pharr Elementary School, we have cultivated a culture that makes our school a wonderful place to be making magical things happen for our students, teachers, and learning community.
